Several NMSU programs ranked on 2023 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools

The U.S. News & World Report’s Best Graduate Schools 2023 rankings have been released, and numerous New Mexico State University graduate programs have been recognized.

Graduate programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Engineering and College of Health, Education and Social Transformation were ranked.

NMSU graduate departments with programs ranked in the top 200 include: 

– Chemistry: Tied-150

– Computer Science: Tied-135

– Earth Sciences: Tied-131

– Economics: Tied-130

– Education: Tied-121

– Engineering: Tied-140

– English: Tied-131

– Fine arts: Tied-135

– Mathematics: Tied-132

– Physics: Tied-122

– Psychology: Tied-162

– Public affairs: Tied-170

– Public health: Tied-138

– Social work: Tied-94

– Speech language pathology: Tied-170

U.S. News & World Report ranks professional school programs in business, education, engineering, law, medicine and nursing along with area specialties annually. The list of best graduate schools includes in-depth evaluations of six academic disciplines, using a variety of statistical data as well as surveys of academic peers. The methodology states the rankings are based on two types of data: expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students.
